School Testimonials

Learn to Rock have provided a truly outstanding Music Education service to Dixons Music Primary since our launch in September 2012.

Staff skilfully encourage and help pupils to develop a love of Music through thoughtful and carefully planned tuition.

Our pupils enjoy their music so much and comments such as ‘I am so excited about my music lesson I could burst’ being commonplace.

Alison, as Director for Learn to Rock, has been excellent in helping to establish and evolve the Music curriculum.

I would not hesitate to recommend Learn to Rock to any other School.

Michelle Long, Head of School, Dixons Music Primary, Bradford

Learn to Rock is one of the best companies I have had the privilege to work with.

Being the only specialist Music Primary School in the whole of the UK we wanted to find the best music tutors to uphold our high standards of teaching and did so with Learn to Rock.  Our students have shown significant improvement all round as individuals and have developed their musical skills dramatically with the help of Alison, the Director for Learn to Rock, and her team.

I would highly recommend Learn to Rock to anyone as they dedicate a huge amount of time and effort into every aspect of their work – whether that is a one on one lesson with a student, or our school Christmas Concert.  We couldn’t ask for a better company to work with our students!

The Learn to Rock tutors have joined in our music making ethos seamlessly and with enthusiasm to enhance and extend our music provision.  We have benefitted from high quality musicians whose skills and experience are relevant and exciting to children.  Learn to Rock has unlocked access to instruments and a world of more popular music.  Our children are really lucky to have fun experimenting with real music, learning key skills which are transferable across the whole curriculum individually, in pairs and in groups.

Learn to Rock has provided an outstanding service to Foxhill Primary School for the past four years.

Over the last two years I have organised the timetables and pupils at school for the Drum lessons and Guitar lessons and Band work.

The teaching from Rik and Alison has been outstanding (Drums, Guitar and Band).  The pupils love their lessons and the lessons really are a highlight of their week.

Alison and Rik have promoted their work with pupils in all Foxhill concerts and concerts outside of school such as last Christmas when the Drum pupils and our Junk Funk group performed at Victoria Theatre and as guest performers at Dixons Music Primary School.

I cannot actually believe how fantastic musicians the pupils have become.  The work for Rik and Alison has increased massively this last two years.  This increase has solely been by word of mouth from the pupils learning to their friends.

The pupils have all gained in confidence and their self esteem has increased dramatically as a result of lessons with Alison and Rik.

I cannot recommend Learn to Rock more highly enough to Schools and parents of children interested in learning Drums, Guitars, Voice and Keyboards.  I myself have been so impressed by the teaching and learning I have taken up learning the Drums at school with Learn to Rock alongside the Headteacher.

You are never too old to have a go or to be encouraged by the staff at Learn to Rock!!

Helen Douglas, Cover Supervisor, Foxhill Primary School, Bradford

As a new school with limited staff we contracted Learn to Rock staff to provide extra-curricular music during our first year until we had more staff.

Students enjoyed these activities.  Learn to Rock tutors also provided some individual lessons to students and co-ordinated music exams.

The tutors were both reliable and professional and they were well supported by the highly skilled management team at Learn to Rock. I was very pleased with the service that was provided during our first year.

I can thoroughly recommend Learn to Rock to any School who wishes to enhance their Music and Performing Arts provision. The children at Addingham Primary School absolutely love their Music curriculum lessons and one to one instrument music lessons because they are inspiring, fun and challenging.

Hilary Gallacher, Headteacher, Addingham Primary School, Ilkley

Music is at the centre of Foxhill Primary School’s reputation for enjoyment of learning & high achievement.  All our children from Nursery to Year 6 have structured daily music following the principles of Kodaly, as part of their core subject allocation. From year 1 they all have the opportunity to learn to play an instrument and to perform.  With this in mind, I handpick my music tutors to deliver only ‘excellence’ in music tuition.  Alison Smith has worked closely with school for several years.  She teaches individual Drum lessons & Band sessions, always ensuring our children have the skills to perform to exceptionally high standards.  She has a flexible working approach with school & contributes hugely to our Music Concerts.  Our vibrant ‘Junk Funk’ Band that Alison put together has now performed publicly on several occasions – with incredibly positive feedback & the bookings are still coming in!
