Jack and Dan the Tutor are Preparing for the Burley Oaks Demo

The children at DMP have been very excited today as they have prepared for their performance of the Lion King. The children have had their faces painted and are getting ready for the Dress Rehearsal. They look fantastic!!
Read more »Beni in Year 7 Further Work in Latin Grooves and Fills

As we track Beni in year 7 this example shows him working this week on developing his Latin drumming. The latest developments here show Beni combining semi quaver triplet fills, triplet fills and semi quaver fills. We also see him playing great Samba style beats whilst a contrasting Bossa Nova style beat is bring played.

Today Beni achieved some great work on his Samba piece. We were working on a tight introduction followed by two variants of the Samba groove. In terms of fills listen to his semi quaver triplets combined with regular semi quavers.

Yesterday Reece, in Year 3, began work on his first Rock School drum exam. He learnt a full piece in one lesson and by the end of the lesson was able to play the piece with the backing track!
