Today the Year 1 Drummers began work on putting together their piece for our Dixons Summer concert on 27 June. We have been working on ‘Call and Response’ featured in the introduction. We have also recently learnt how to incorporate ‘Caterpillar’ fills (semiquavers) using the Snare Drum and the First Tom. This piece, the boys have learnt, is in Ternary form. The cymbal signals when to move from phrase A to phrase B and back to phrase A. We are working on careful listening and watching skills to know when to change.
